Mission:

The UAS Operator will conduct uncrewed aerial system operations across Southern Europe, delivering reliable sensor data and real-time intelligence to support maritime and land-based surveillance missions. The role requires planning and executing missions within regulatory frameworks, managing payloads and communications, and ensuring operational safety and mission effectiveness in varied environments.

What will be your responsibilities:

  • Act as Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC) in accordance with EASA regulations

  • Plan, execute, and debrief missions to the highest safety standards

  • Conduct site surveys, risk assessments, and mission briefings

  • Ensure aircraft airworthiness (inspections, maintenance, record-keeping)

  • Support operations in remote or demanding environments

  • Deliver training and evaluate pilots (check flights, assessments)

  • Mentor junior operators and technical staff

  • Provide technical support (on-site and remote)

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal procedures

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and a strong safety culture

Profile and requirements:
Required
  • Valid EASA Remote Pilot certification (or national equivalent)

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in professional UAS operations

  • Minimum 1+ year hands-on experience in UAS or aircraft maintenance

  • Experience in demanding operational environments (defence, security, maritime, etc.)

  • Experience delivering pilot training and evaluations

  • Strong decision-making and aeronautical judgement

  • Good leadership and organisational skills

Mandatory
  • Experience operating medium-to-large UAS platforms (Group 2/3 equivalent)

  • Willingness to travel frequently, including short-notice deployments

  • Valid EU driving licence

  • Ability to handle operational equipment (~20 kg)

  • Comfortable working in remote or dynamic environments

  • Eligibility to work within the EU

Preferred
  • Experience in ISR / maritime surveillance / autonomous systems

  • Experience working with European government customers

  • Instructor background or certification

  • Additional languages (Spanish, Italian, Portuguese)
