We're looking for a Systems Engineer to join our growing engineering team, supporting the development of advanced maritime, autonomous and defence technologies.

As a Systems Engineer, you'll play a key role in defining, managing and delivering system-level solutions across Kraken platforms. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you'll ensure that complex systems are designed, integrated and verified in line with customer requirements, operational needs and relevant regulatory standards.

This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with a strong systems mindset who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, balancing performance, cost, risk and schedule, and contributing throughout the full systems engineering lifecycle.

• Capture, define and manage system-level requirements and traceability
• Translate customer needs into clear, structured technical requirements
• Develop and maintain system architectures and Concepts of Operation (CONOPS)
• Support the decomposition of system requirements into subsystem and component-level requirements
• Manage interfaces between mechanical, electrical, software and payload subsystems
• Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
• Participate in and support design reviews at both system and subsystem level
• Plan and support integration, verification and validation (IV&V) activities
• Support system testing, troubleshooting and fault-finding activities
• Identify, assess and mitigate technical risks
• Support configuration management and change control processes
• Liaise with customers and stakeholders on technical matters
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems engineering processes and practices

• Degree qualification or equivalent experience in Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Understanding of systems engineering principles and lifecycle processes
• Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Ability to capture, document and manage technical requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to interpret complex technical documentation and specifications
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

• Experience developing system architectures
• Exposure to system integration, verification and validation activities
• Experience using requirements management tools
• Understanding of interface management and ICD development
• Experience within marine, defence, robotics or autonomous systems sectors
• Familiarity with regulated or safety-critical engineering environments
